Dresden-Krakow Long Distance

From "Elbflorenz" to the Carpathians – 6/07-14/07/2019

Infinite spaces, lonesome mountains, wild unspoilt landscapes. Join our expedition to eastern Europe. Along the Sudeten mountains to the high mountains of the Carpathians, our tour is winding through four nations. We will discover Saxonian Switzerland, the eastern Ore Mountains, the Jeschken above Liberec, the home of the giant Ruebezahl in the Sudeten Mountains along the borders of Saxony, Bohemia, Poland and Moravia. When we reach Slovakia, we can already spot the Upper Tatra at the horizon. On our stages aroung Strebske Pleso and Zakopane, we experience exquisite lonesomeness and untouched nature - surrounded by mountains of 2000 meters.

Beginning in lovely Dresden at the Elbe, we dare this ride to unknown regions. Our destination is Krakow at the Vistula, often labeled the most beautiful city of Poland, changing between historical air and Eastern bloc atmosphere.

Discover the wild wild East!

The Guides

Robert – The World Record Holder

Robert is the strongest cyclist in the Epic Climbs squad. His trophy cabinet is packed - including two for winning the Race Across The Alps, and he's the current world record holder for most elevation gain in 24 hours. And just a quiet, feet-on-the-ground sort of guy. A rich addition to any Epic Climbs trip.

Tobias – The Bolt

quäldich-Guide Tobias Heß

Tobias takes after his name - he's just about unstoppable on the flat or in the mountains. So we mostly use him as a guide to the fast group.

Strava

Alex – the Local Hero

quäldich-Guide Alex Steiner

Alex was taken on board late in 2011 as an adviser for the Erz Mountains stage of the 2012 Tour of Germany. Before that had even taken place, the route for the 2013 Tour of the Ore was decided. Loyal to his local region, he knows the Ore Mountains better than almost anyone.

Getting there

Dresden can be reached easily both by car and by train.
