The end of the trip involves the Petit Ballon, which is always a little in the shade of its big brother. This year we shall tackle the climb from Eschbach, in the Munster Valley; the pros came to appreciate this ascent on the 2014 Tour de France. After most of the ride there has passed off nice and quietly through the woods, a spectacular finale awaits us. Once the woods open out around 2 kms from the summit, the Petit Ballon provides us with another terrific view over the Munster Valley and its surrounding area. What a farewell sight! The flying descent is quickly done and dusted so that, freshly showered, we can say our goodbyes on our hotel terrace. And maybe agree to meet up again for the next Vosges trip in 2019?
