Our fairly relaxed ride through the gorgeous Chiemgau starts at 12am in the Inn Valley, which we leave over the winding Wildbichl Pass with views of the Zahmer Kaiser in the Chiemgau. Passing Hohenaschau Castle we roll along the flat towards Lake Chiemsee which, however, we won't glimpse. Shortly before Siegsdorf we take the short climb up to the Maria Eck pilgrimage site. Tumbling down into the valley, we ride through biathlon mecca Ruhpolding, where we pass the biathlon centre heading towards a second pilgrimage site, the well-known Winklmoosalm, which attracts skiers during the winter. Today we scale steep straights with gradients of up to 18 %, only to turn around at the top. Passing through Reit im Winkl and Walchsee, we bring our short outing to an end.
