Sierra Nevada Circuit

A late season highlight under the Andalusian sun – 30/09-10/10/2017

The Pico del Veleta, at almost 3,400 m the highest point in Europe that you can ride on a road bike, is the sporting highlight of our 10-day Sierra Nevada circuit.

We've again extended the programme for the 2017 edition. In fact, we're riding even more sierras - Starting from picturesque Alcaucín, after two nights and the warm-up ride we head along the Sierra Tejeda and down to the sea. We then immerse ourselves in the magic of the Sierra Nevada and its little sisters. Sometimes gruff, sometimes loveable, surprisingly green and sometimes lonely - the frisky tarmac strips provide new adventures as the Sierra Nevada proves a top training ground. After 7 stages around and through Spain's highest mountain range we arrive at La Viñuela, where we can head out for another ride or just dip our toes in the sea.

On the tour we usually stay in top-class hotels and genuine ?casas rurales?, such as in Spain's ham town, Trevélez. In Granada, after the Veleta stage it's: ?Let's party!? with plenty of Andalusian cuisine and joie de vivre thrown in, no doubt.

The date, admittedly late in the year to be a highlight, was chosen deliberately. Only around early autumn can we guarantee both that the snow has gone from the high peaks and that the sizzling summer temperatures are a thing of the past.

And we have another extra lined up: Ex-Team Telekom cult masseur «Owl», who is bound to do his bit towards ensuring a late season success.

As on all our Andalusian holidays, here too we offer the complete package, including flights, transfers and bike hire.

The Guides

Hagen – el guía jefe andaluz

Our guy from the Rhön now has his training base in: Granada and the Sierra Nevada. As our cultural attaché to Andalucia, he knows the tapas by their first name. Motivated and passionate. Devout believer in wearing white socks.

Tobias – The Bolt

quäldich-Guide Tobias Heß

Tobias takes after his name - he's just about unstoppable on the flat or in the mountains. So we mostly use him as a guide to the fast group.

Demonstrated beer guide skills as a member of the legendary group on the Flensburg-Garmisch, and was cast as a guide as a result. His usual training area is the Rhineland, but he knows his way around Andalucia too.

Getting there

Lean back - The flight and the shuttle to and from our mountain goal is our problem!

The price includes the flight to Málaga from Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden or Stuttgart. Other airports upon request.

There follows a bus transfer to the mountains. - Bienvenidos a las sierras andaluzas!
