VERY important message
This holiday is in the past. The next edition of the Bergtraining in Andalusien I (Playa Granada) will take place on from 16th to 23rd March 2019.

Mountain training in Andalusia (Playa Granada)

Let your legs do the talking in March – 18/03-25/03/2017

It's time to start a new Epic Climbs mountain training chapter - Bienvenidos a Motril/ Playa Granada!

Our idea:

Stable weather and pleasant temperatures Spectacular scenery. Plenty of climbing. Quality road surfaces. Well away from the cycling circus on that well-known Mediterranean island. Great service with flights and bike hire.

Our terrain:

The area around Motril, population 60,000, on Granada's southern coast, a good hour west of Málaga. Ideal for hilly rides of 90 to 150 kms. An awful lot of climbs from 0 to 1500m. From gentle to steep. Up and down. Lots of gear changes. At the centre of the real Andalusia: Through the Alpujarras to the ham village of Trevélez, up the Anglirú of the South (Peña Escrita), up the lonely Cabra to the Collado de los poyos del pescado, to a tiny cafe on the road or a chiringuito (beach bar) for the standard, laid-back, Andalusian experience.

Our base camp:

We pitch camp right on the Playa de Granada in Motril, where our 4-star barracks overlooking the sea offers perfect chillout conditions every night. We can even keep our road bikes - Spanish-made, of course - in our room. The buffet is ready.

Epic Climbs mountain training in Andalusia. Performance. Pain. Passion.

The Guides

Jan – The Boss

quäldich-Guide Sahner Jan

Founder and CEO of Epic Climbs and, as such, on a very special mission - with his inimitable style he motivates his flock to perform great deeds in the saddle. Sometimes does great things in the evening programme, too!

Hagen – el guía jefe andaluz

quäldich-Guide

Our guy from the Rhön now has his training base in: Granada and the Sierra Nevada. As our cultural attaché to Andalucia, he knows the tapas by their first name. Motivated and passionate. Devout believer in wearing white socks.

Tobias – The Bolt

quäldich-Guide Tobias Heß

Tobias takes after his name - he's just about unstoppable on the flat or in the mountains. So we mostly use him as a guide to the fast group.

Getting there

Lean back - The flight and the shuttle to and from our mountain goal is our problem!

The price includes the flight to Málaga from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden. Other airports upon request.

There follows a bus transfer of about 1.5h to Motril.

Hard group
